Alfons Adetuyi is an award-winning director and producer who is known for his ability to finesse award-winning performances from actors and to tell a story which engages and moves an audience.

 

His producing and directing credits include episodes of the gritty medical drama Jozi H (nominated for Best Dramatic Series, Gemini Awards), the critically acclaimed Ekhaya: A Family Chronicle (Best Dramatic Series, Cinema Tout Ecran, Geneva International Film and Television Festival), and the award-winning Survivors (1st Place Chris Award, Columbus International Film Festival; Golden Sheaf Award, Best Drama, Yorkton Film Festival; Official Selection, Toronto International Film Festival).  

Alfons initiated the first official co-production between Canada and South Africa and is also known as an experienced executive producer; his credits include Gemini Award winning Skin Deep
and the drama series North/South (CBC).  He also produced the award-winning documentary feature Ganesh, Boy Wonder (Best Documentary Film, MIAAC 2010 Festival, New York; Official Selection 2009 Hot Docs International Documentary Festival; Official Selection Montreal International Film Festival).

 

Alfons most recently executive produced the feature film Beat The World, distributed by Sony in the US, The Wild Bunch in Europe and eOne in Canada.  High Chicago, Alfons Adetuyi’s feature film directorial debut is to be released in 2012.
